The Citizen Judicial Council (CJC) of Mexico City has announced the seven individuals who continue in the process to become the head of the Capital Attorney General's Office (FGJ). During the regular session on Tuesday, the CJC detailed that two women and five men submitted the required documentation to be selected, while two individuals were disqualified.

Among the candidates for the position are Ulrich Richter Morales, Fernando Moreno Caballero, José Alejandro García Ramírez, Francisco Javier Rodríguez Espejel, Bertha María Alcalde Luján, Anaid Elena Valero Manzano, and Mario Alberto Martell Gómez. The selection process will include the reception of opinions of support or rejection from the citizenry, which will take place from November 13 to 16, 2024, either in writing or through a public hearing.

The opinions must include identification data and supporting evidence and may be submitted at the CJC offices on weekdays. Additionally, interviews with the candidates will be conducted from November 18 to 20, the approval of the preselected will be on November 22, followed by trust examinations from November 23 to 28, and it will culminate with the publication of the shortlist on December 2 in a public session.
